Gerraint Jones outside Admiral offices on a nice sunny day

Financial challenges of Wales’ biggest listed company

Geraint Jones, the chief financial officer of Admiral, the only FTSE 100 company in Wales, discussed the unique and complex challenges he faces – especially as the company continues to grow, launch new products and expands into new markets overseas.

His role now has an international outlook, which will only become more pronounced as Admiral continues to develop and becomes ever more complex as a business.
Jones is responsible for finance, actuarial, compliance and investments. He joined Admiral in 2002 and has held a number of senior finance positions within the company including head of finance, before being promoted to deputy CFO in January 2012, and CFO in August 2014.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Geraint spent the early part of his career as an external auditor at Ernst & Young, and KPMG.

During this session he discussed the challenges of managing the finances of Admiral as it continues to grow quickly and expands into overseas markets.
