In this session of the CFO Forum South Wales, we met Giles Thorley the Chief Executive of Development Bank of Wales.

Giles Thorley joined the Development Bank as Chief Executive in April 2016. Prior to this, he enjoyed a successful 20-year career in private equity. He is also a business angel.

Before joining the Development Bank of Wales, Giles was a partner at private equity firm TDR Capital focusing on deal origination activities. Prior to this he spent nine years with Punch Taverns, initially as chairman and later as CEO following the execution of an IPO.

He was also the chief executive of Unique Pub Company, a business created by a joint venture between Grand Metropolitan and Foster’s Brewing Group. He has held non-executive director roles with a number of businesses including Esporta, Ducati, Tragus Holdings, TUI Travel and Matthew Clark Wholesale.
